The HROA (the membership association for human resources transformation professionals) announces a new co-chairmanship structure for its European Chapter.

The new post will be shared between two well-known and highly respected members of the buyer and service provider communities. The sharing of responsibilities is designed to ensure that HROA Europe’s future is firmly driven by the needs of all parties with an interest in the successful development of the European HR transformation industry.

Hindle and Lhoneux confirmed
Speaking at the HRO Europe Conference in Brussels (27th November), Karsten Soderberg, Executive Director of HROA Europe, announced that Guy-Joel de Lhoneux, Vice President HR Relationship, Unilever and John Hindle, Global Marketing Lead, Accenture HR & Learning BPO, had both confirmed their acceptance of the new co-chairmanship post.

Commenting on his decision to take on this new role, Guy-Joel de Lhoneux said, “I am delighted to accept this challenge with HROA Europe because I believe it is vital that buyers/practitioners positively drive the industry agenda. We all recognise that, although the HRO market is maturing fast, we are still essentially early adopters, all with a great deal to share, learn and shape. I am also happy to play my part in bringing a continental perspective to the Association’s leadership. Achieving a broader cultural mix is vital to ensuring the balanced representation of members’ interests and priorities. I trust that, working with John, we will deliver added value to the members of the Association by realising the vision we set for the Association. ”

Leadership structure mirrors principles
His co-chair, John Hindle, added, “HR Transformation and HR Outsourcing depend on effective partnerships and long-term relationships between those who receive services and those who provide them - characterised by open and honest dialogue, a fair exchange of value, and a shared commitment to mutual success.  We have adopted a leadership structure for HROA Europe that mirrors those principles; one that we believe establishes a solid foundation on which we can advance the state of practice in HR. I am grateful for the confidence and contributions of the HROA Europe board members and their commitment to work with us to deliver value to our membership, and I especially look forward to working with Guy-Joel."

Karsten Soderberg, Executive Director of HROA Europe, explained to conference guests, “By sharing the Chairmanship of HROA Europe between the provider and the buyer communities the healthy future development of the Association has been secured. It is imperative to drive industry development by addressing the needs of both buyers as well as service providers. At the same time, under the new leadership, the board of the Association has set out a fresh vision together with a new, detailed Strategic Action Plan which will improve transparency and keeps us accountable to our members.”

Tribute to Gluntz
He also paid tribute to retiring Chairman, Philipe Gluntz, who stands down after two years. Soderberg explained that it is thanks to Gluntz’s unparalleled experience, guidance and insight that HROA Europe has advanced so rapidly since 2005.

The new HROA co-chairmanship will operate with immediate effect. Both Chairs will hold the post for two years before re-election.
