Award Citation
Sue Gooch has personally made some of the greatest impacts on this industry.  BT’s decision to outsource HR was landmark at the time and continues to set standards throughout the industry.  In a very dynamic environment, Ms. Gooch served as the critical link in realizing BT’s vision of flexible, innovative HR services built on a global delivery framework, integrated technology platform, and using an efficient pricing model that could support over 102,000 employees and 182,000 pensioners in more than 50 countries worldwide. 

BT’s CEO puts this effort into context when he said, “BT is no longer a technology business – BT is a people business.”  In Ms. Gooch’s own words, “BT welcomes competition because it drives innovation, and we need people who can cope in that environment. Attracting and retaining a highly-motivated and flexible workforce with world-class expertise is now a key differentiator for BT.”
