In anticipation of learning which individuals, organizations and relationships would be honored as the most innovative, visionary and contributory to the advancement of the HR Outsourcing industry, more than 300 people gathered for the HROA’s second annual Awards Gala, held in New York City at the HRO World conference last month.  From the impressive list of nominees – chosen by independent panels of expert judges – 15 were ultimately named 2006 HROA Award Winners by a separate independent selection committee.

Winners at the HROA’s 2006 Awards Gala were:

  • StraightSource – RPO Provider of the Year
  • Prudential Relocation – Relocation Provider of the Year
  • ADP – Payroll Provider of the Year
  • Accenture and Hewitt – Large Market Provider of the Year (this marks the first time since the inception of the awards that there has been a tie in any category)
  • NiSource and IBM – Mid-Market Customer Relationship of the Year
  • Bank of America and Fidelity – Large Market Customer Relationship of the Year
  • Karen Bowman, Convergys – Provider Executive of the Year
  • Tim Palmer, EquaTerra – Sourcing Advisor of the Year
  • John Halvey, Milbank Tweed – Sourcing Attorney of the Year
  • Jim Borel, DuPont – Buyer Executive of the Year
  • Andrew Kris, SBPOA – Thought Leader of the Year
  • Harry Feinberg, Outsourcing Today – Person of the Year

In his opening remarks, HROA Executive Director Richard Crespin said, “The theme of this year’s Gala is ‘Be Bold.’  All the nominees we honor here tonight have done something beyond the typical in serving their employees, clients and colleagues.  Each nominee has certainly achieved some level of commercial success, but that’s not sufficient to be nominated or win one of these awards.  Our nominees have all done something significant in advancing our industry.  It is their vision, their action, their derring-do that has pushed this industry from a mere abstract thought a few years ago to the robust industry it is today.”

Crespin continued, “Because of your collective leadership, your inspiration and your track record in advancing our industry, tonight, as an Association, it is not we who honor you, but you who honor us.  Regardless of the results tonight, all our nominees honor us with their ability to push us to think broader, compete faster, and do more.  Each of you, in your own way, encourages us all to be bold.”
