±ON, NEAR OR OFFSHORE
Issues and opportunities when setting up a shared services operation
____________________________________________

This Insight session will help corporate decision makers make the right decision as to where to locate a shared services operation, and separate the marketing hype surrounding offshore service provision from reality. • understand the dynamics and unique capabilities and risks in various locations - both established and emerging
  • know where to get reliable data
  • develop next steps

±CHANGE REQUESTS
Delivering services as business conditions change
____________________________________________

The best provider or internal due diligence effort cannot predict all business scenarios. Scope descriptions and service levels are not static, yet most services pricing constructs cannot cover all changes that affect delivery.  Developing definitions that address a range of delivery scenarios as companies are added and sold, as geographies shift and as new conditions appear is critical to managing cost and service.

This program will equip managers with insights, tools and techniques to develop an effective change request program from design through management.

Topics to be covered include:

  • defining what is “business as usual” and what is a change request as covered in the contract
  • administering a  mutually-agreeable classification system for change requests
  • ensuring that the change request process is used to compensate for legitimate changes in services levels and scope as opposed to additional fee for poor due diligence
  • justifying pricing estimates
  • managing the evidence and disputation process
  • documenting changes in process flows, policy and service levels
  • ensuring that “knock on” effects of changes are managed
  • effectively staffing the change request process

Who should attend?
Transformation program management staff.

This program takes participants through the restructuring of a contract, helping them to recast contractual provisions in light of provider performance and changing business conditions.

Topics to be covered include:

  • identifying the options
  • assembling the right team
  • use/misuse of benchmarking
  • de-scoping services
  • preparing the execution plan
  • managing provider resistance
  • ‘gives and takes' - trade-offs in service levels and fees
  • employing effective negotiation strategies

Who should attend?
Corporate counsel and program leadership, Outsourcing relationship directors and their teams.
