IBM signs human resources services agreement with American Airlines

IBM has signed a 7 1/2-year business transformation outsourcing (BTO) agreement with American Airlines. Under the agreement, IBM will manage many of the airline's human resource functions.

American Airlines has plans to enhance human resources services for its employees based in the United States and Canada. The airline will make use of IBM's suite of automated services and technologies, integrated with administrative and consulting services from Mercer HR.
 
IBM will be providing support for standardized human resources processesâ€"including training, recruitment and staffingâ€"along with HR-related information technology and call center support. Collaboration with Mercerâ€"which is contributing health benefit, pension plan, and compensation administrationâ€"will provide American Airlines and its employees with a comprehensive package of HR services.
